Il Museum of Fine Arts di Boston dedica al grande fotografo di moda Mario Testino la sua prima grande mostra museale negli Stati Uniti (fino al 3 febbraio). Il titolo della retrospettiva, che raccoglie 122 scatti scelti personalmente dal fotografo, è 'In Your Face', e si riferisce sì al genere del ritratto fotografico, ma soprattutto all'energia e all'irriverenza che le sue immagini sprigionano.

Stile, eleganza, bellezza, provocazione, contraddizione, movimento e colore sono alcune delle parole che descrivono i suoi scatti. E poi celebrità. In trent'anni di carriera il suo obiettivo ha visto passare davanti superstar come Kate Moss, Gisele Bündchen, Nicole Kidman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Mick Jagger, Madonna, Lady Gaga e David Beckham.

Ma la sua maestria non minore quando si tratta di ritratti ufficiali. Il museo di Boston ne dà un esempio con una mostra parallela, intitolata 'British Royal Portraits', che raccoglie i ritratti della famiglia reale d'Inghilterra, della cui realizzazione cui Testino è stato più volte incaricato nel corso della sua carriera. Dal 1997, quando realizzò il famoso ritratto di Lady Diana per Vanity Fair, al 2010, con il fidanzamento del Principe William e Kate Middleton.
