Lei è sempre tra le braccia di lui. Dove «lei» è sempre sinonimo di una bella fanciulla, più o meno svestita, terrorizzata o, qualche volta, già svenuta. Lui, invece, può essere un mostro degli abissi, un vampiro, uno scimmione o un extraterrestre. Indifferentemente. Perché l’eterna storia della bella e la bestia, di delicatezza e brutalità ma anche del rapporto tra conosciuto e sconosciuto non ha mai fine. E il cinema l’ha celebrata in tanti «flop» ma anche in veri capolavori. Anche della grafica, come dimostrano le 150 locandine della raccolta ‘Monsters & Maidens: A Film Poster Collection ‘ che andranno all’incanto alla Swann Auction Galleries di New York. Alcuni dei poster sono rari, come quello disegnato nel 1956 per il film Il pianeta proibito dall’artista Roger Soubie. Prezzi stimati fino a 20.000 dollari.
